Artist's Comments

My mother's father built a doll house long before I was born. My mother has spent years buying or building up the furniture, textiles, fixtures and effects which make up this authentic reconstruction of a gas-lamp period house. From the newspaper to the children's toys to the cans in the kitchen, nothing in the house is newer than the Christmas of 1902.

I arranged lighting for separate photographs of each room, and then reconstructed the house for this 16"x20" print. The separate perspective is aimed at letting the viewer explore each room in depth, while still evoking the original arrangement in the house.

omg the early 1900's and the 1800's...scary times ><. But this is beautiful. I like it a lot :). I love how everything came out so equal, no sides missing and stuff ^-^

Pretty good work with the overall assembly of the individual pictures; pretty impressive details in both the photo itself, and the rooms. That must be a lot of work :o

I dont know what it is, but I really like this. The fact that each room was photographed seperatly gives the whole house a strange look.. which I enjoy. I likey.
