My mother's father built a doll house long before I was born. My mother has spent years buying or building up the furniture, textiles, fixtures and effects which make up this authentic reconstruction of a gas-lamp period house. From the newspaper to the children's toys to the cans in the kitchen, nothing in the house is newer than the Christmas of 1902.
I arranged lighting for separate photographs of each room, and then reconstructed the house for this 16"x20" print. The separate perspective is aimed at letting the viewer explore each room in depth, while still evoking the original arrangement in the house.
I've always had a fascination for dolls, and more so for doll houses. And I will say... this is the most beautiful thing I've Ever seen in my entire like. Everything is so beautiful and realistic. I'm absolutely astonished!
The detail is amazing!
